Mission: Empowering people with vision loss.

Level the playing field.
We champion the right of people who are blind or vision impaired to have equal opportunities and support towards meaningful careers and independent lives.

Serving people who are blind or vision impaired since 1933. Vibrant Works, formerly The San Antonio Lighthouse for the Blind & Vision Impaired (name change effective June 26, 2023) provides rehabilitation services as well as employment for the blind and vision impaired in its light manufacturing assembly plant.

COMMUNITY SUPPORT PROGRAMS FOR ADULTS AND CHILDREN:
Independent living services for adults and seniors:
Vibrant Works offers adults and seniors who are experiencing various degrees of vision loss the opportunity to remain independent and active through program services. These program services are sponsored free of charge to qualifying individuals who are enrolled in the program.

We support blind or visually impaired children and their families.
Our support focuses on providing the tools necessary to assist the children in acquiring the skills they need to gain independence and succeed in their academic training and life. Our program contains assistive technology equipment, educational toys, and adaptive aids to assist with this training. It includes a library equipped with large-print and Braille books, the Bertie and Selig Frank Playroom provides support specifically to infants and toddlers, and a technology room equipped with computers affixed with assistive/adaptive aids.

Low Vision Clinic Services: Call 210-567-8600 to make an appointment.
Our goal is to maximize the visual potential of each patient.
Our clinic offers evaluations on low vision, distance, near magnification, and driving devices. We also offer computer modification for vision impairment, orientation and mobility, and video electronic magnification services.

Career Guidance. Regain your independence.
Choosing a career can be exciting and as well as overwhelming. Our Career support team offers a wide range of services that enable blind and low-vision individuals to obtain and maintain employment.
