Mission and Vision

The Mission of the Kendall County Parks Department is to provide well-maintained parks and open spaces, facilities and recreational services for all abilities to improve the quality of life for all. The preservation of our natural resources, heritage and wildlife remain at the forefront throughout our park land.

Description

The Kendall County Parks Department is working on our 10-Year Comprehensive Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan and would like feedback from our park users. This is an opportunity for the community to help guide the future of our parks system by providing feedback on what you would like to see available in the county pertaining to parks, recreation, and open spaces. Just minutes away from Boerne & San Antonio, families can enjoy the tranquility of the Hill Country at our three parks to experience nature at it's best!
— Joshua Springs Park and Preserve has over 400 acres, an enclosed dog park for small and large dogs, and some of the amenities include trails for walking, biking, running, hiking, open air pavilions, a playground, fishing, restrooms, and wildlife observation blinds. There are under 2 miles of ADA trails that wind through the center of the park with convenient picnic areas nearby.
— James Kiehl River Bend Park is a serene 25-acre natural area with grassland, woodland, and riparian habitats. 1,634 feet of Guadalupe River frontage provides access to the river for fishing, paddling, swimming, and relaxing.
— At KCNA, there is 117 scenic acres along the Guadalupe River containing six habitats: riparian, oak savanna, disturbed woodland/blowdown, open juniper - oak woodland, closed-canopy juniper - oak woodland, and old field.1,700 feet of Guadalupe River frontage allows access for river recreation: fishing, paddling, swimming, splashing, and relaxing. No potable water - Don't forget to bring water for you and your dog. Conventional and ADA accessible latrines provided.

EVENT CENTER: 716 FM 289 Comfort, TX 78013
The Ring Mountain Event Center is a 4,500 square foot multi-use facility available to rent for events and gatherings such as weddings, reunions, business dinners, baby showers and more. The event center sits on top of Ring Mountain at 1,756 feet elevation with beautiful 360 degree views of the Texas Hill Country and comes equipped with a kitchen, restrooms, grand room, patios and an outdoor bar.
