Mission and Vision
The Hill Country Daily Bread Ministries mission is to help unite and equip the Body of Christ with food, resources, and training necessary to transform our communities and the lives of those in poverty and need through the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ.
StandByMe was created in 2006 to support at-risk youth in our community in search of support, guidance and God’s love. Our mission is to help transform the lives of Texas Hill Country kids through one-on-one Christian mentoring relationships.
Description
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: StandByMe Student Mentoring Program currently partners with Boerne
Independent School District and the local churches in the Boerne area. StandByMe’s goal is to connect adult Christian mentors with (k-12) students in Boerne to spend time with the student as a role model and friend and focus the spiritual and emotional needs of the student. Screened Mentors are asked to spend at least one hour per week for one year in the community.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: None
APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR CLIENT: Students are referred to program through various community
partners. Mentors are recruited, screened, trained and matched through StandByMe.
Ongoing support is provided for the duration of the match. Interested families or mentors can contact StandByMe.
