The Kendall County Sheriff’s Office, Boerne Police Department, and Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department have joined forces to present the Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy each year.

The Citizen’s Law Enforcement Academy introduces participants to the agencies that serve our community. Participants will see firsthand how we conduct business and why. The purpose of this joint academy is to enhance, through education and hands-on participation, the positive relationship between our local law enforcement agencies and our community. The academy is designed to give them a better understanding of the mission and operations of our agencies, to enable each of them to gain an appreciation of the current challenges facing law enforcement, and to offer them an opportunity for comments and suggestions in helping to solve these challenges. Their valued input allows us to continue to improve on the services we provide.

Topics that are presented will include patrol procedures, criminal investigation, jail operations, animal control, warrant service, and firearms.

Completion of the academy gives them, as a Law Enforcement Academy Alumni, a unique opportunity to assist our local law enforcement agencies with many functions where civilian participation is needed and appreciated, if you so desire.
