CHARGER AND GREYHOUND YOUTH FOOTBALL AND CHEER
A 2023 MESSAGE TO THE BOERNE COMMUNITY
Dear Chargers and Greyhounds families,

As you may be aware, the Boerne Bulls Youth Football and Cheer Association (BYFCA) has played a significant role within our community in providing tackle football and cheerleading opportunities to our community’s youth. Over the last several years, the organization has seen significant growth, and this year the decision was made to dissolve BYFCA and create two new separate organizations that align with the Boerne ISD high schools’ attendance zones. As a result, we have formed the Champion Chargers Youth Football and Cheer organization to support the Champion High School attendance zone and the Boerne Greyhound Youth Football and Cheer organization to support the Boerne High School attendance zone. This decision was not made lightly, and significant time, thought, and effort were put in to ensure these two organizations were created correctly. We believe we have the right group of volunteers to lead both organizations into the future.

Our primary goal is to provide the best tackle football and cheerleading experiences possible for the children of Boerne. An important aspect to achieving this goal is to have our children play and cheer with those who will be together throughout middle school and high school. We realize Boerne ISD allows for high school choice; however, separating these organizations based on high school attendance zones aligns with the expectations of the Hill Country Youth Football League, of which both organizations are members, and will allow the two organizations to obtain equipment, find dedicated practice fields, host home games, and better navigate other logistical challenges to allow participation for a greater number of children.

Further, by splitting and aligning to the BISD high schools, we look forward to embracing school pride and building community. We intend to collaborate with the respective high school coaching staffs to help implement systems at the youth level that will prepare our players for middle school and high school football.

Going forward, we are committed to working together and supporting each other. We will not create competition for registration and resources – however, when we meet on the field, we expect hard fought games! We appreciate the continued community support in helping us provide youth tackle football and cheerleading to our Boerne youth. We look forward to growing these organizations and continuing the success of our past Boerne Bulls teams.
