Boerne Reads

Mission and Vision

Boerne Reads is dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children in Kendall County. This program supports our community through literacy initiatives that strengthen reading skills, provide access to books, educate parents on the importance of reading to their children, and advocate for greater library use. Together, we can work to fight illiteracy and ensure that every child has access to books and literacy programs. Boerne Reads not only shows kids how much fun reading can be, but how important reading is for success in academics and life.

Creating a brighter future, one book at a time.

We have provided over 30,000 new and gently used books in our community since 2016. Not only have we distributed books through crisis facilities, we are now able to provide the library with books to give out to children, we created a lending library at Head Start as well as the Boerne Academy and we provide various organizations with books they can give to children as prizes.

Your donations put books in the hands of children! Through partnerships with BISD, Hill Country Family Services and Love Boerne Kids, we continue to provide books to children in need.

Your support has helped us meet the need for books in so many ways and your support will continue to impact the lives of all children in our community.
