Mission and Vision
The mission of the Boerne Education Foundation (BEF) is to provide opportunities for excellence in education, promote innovation in teaching, and partner with the community to enhance the quality of education in collaboration and alignment with the Boerne Independent School District. We also embrace Boerne ISD's broader mission, to prepare students for life long academic success, responsible citizenship, and sound character.
Our Vision: We strive to support Boerne ISD by:
- Providing education resources over and above Boerne ISD’s normal operating budget
- Improving student achievement
- Recognizing and encourage teaching excellence
- Inspiring parents and the business community to support education locally
In 1997, the Boerne Education Foundation, an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) tax-exempt, philanthropic organization was formed to support public education in our community.
Boerne ISD is a “Robinhood” school district, which means that each year, millions of taxpayer dollars are redistributed to property-poor school districts across the state. BEF serves as the only major funding source outside of the district’s normal operating budget to help Boerne ISD fill this funding gap. BEF strives to ensure Boerne ISD teachers have the resources to provide a superior education for all Boerne ISD students. We provide funding through the following programs and initiatives: teacher innovation grants, annual campus disbursements, permanent endowment, school supply gift cards for teachers, and other districtwide initiatives.
We provide funding through the following programs and initiatives:
