The Boerne Cemetery, which was started in 1867, is owned and operated by the City of Boerne, Texas. As the Boerne Community continues to grow so does the Cemetery. This growth brings with it problems which need to be addressed--problems not only as to maintenance and improvements needed today, but as to how the Cemetery will be cared for in the future. This concern for the Boerne Cemetery has resulted in the establishment of a non-profit corporation, the Boerne Cemetery Foundation.

Chartered by the State of Texas, its purpose is to provide financial assistance to the City for the care of, and improvements to, the Cemetery on a perpetual basis. The Foundation should appeal to all who have relatives and other dear ones buried in the Boerne Cemetery, and all who expect to use the Boerne Cemetery for their family members and themselves. The goal of the Foundation is to work with the City to make the Cemetery look like a well-kept park – neat, clean, well-landscaped, and attractive – a place the community will be proud of.
