Description

HOURS: Monday 8:00AM - 4:00PM

AREA SERVED: Kendall, Blanco, Kerr, and Gillespie Counties

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: Women, Infants, and Children Program. Special Supplemental Food and
Nutrition Education Program for pregnant women, postpartum and breast-feeding women up until their infant is 6 months old; Infants and children until 5 years of age. Offers supplemental food voucher and education to families on recommended feeding guidelines for themselves and their families. Offer referrals to other agencies, breast-feeding counseling and education, and support. Our program’s goal is to reach women during the earliest stage in their pregnancy in order to keep them healthy; make sure that they do have a health care provider; that we bring healthy, full term babies into the world; and assist the
parents in knowing how to care for them.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: WIC is open to many incomes and families. If you are on Medicaid, TANF,
or SNAP you meet the income eligibility guidelines for WIC. If you don’t qualify for these programs, you may still qualify for WIC by meeting the income guidelines for your household.

The Official WIC program is available to low to moderate income pregnant women, recently delivered women, breastfeeding women, infants, and children up to age 5 who are at nutrition risk. Fathers can also bring their children to apply for WIC. You may apply for WIC if you are working or unemployed. Check the Income Guidelines Table to see if you are eligible for WIC. This website was created for women looking for WIC information and locations. We are also working towards adding other locations and services that may help out women.
