KCWS provides safe, emergency shelter in a supportive environment where Texas Hill Country victims of domestic violence and their children can begin the healing process and receive the support services they need to build new lives. PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The Kendall County Women’s Shelter (KCWS) offers safe shelter, food, clothing, personal grooming/hygiene supplies and support services associated with daily living. The KCWS has a 24-hour HELPLine where an advocate is available to offer services, support, information, and
referrals. The KCWS also provides the following program services: intake, crisis intervention, case
management, individual and group counseling, and referrals to outside service providers for legal,
medical, employment, transportation, and other services that are not provided internally. The KCWS
also has a pet facility for victims’ pets.

APPLICATION PROCEDURE FOR CLIENT: KCWS offers residential and non-residential services. Clients
must be victims of domestic violence. To receive services, a potential client must call the hotline and
provide information to staff. A potential client may call the hotline at any time to talk to staff and
ask questions about services provided. Clients, their children and their pets are welcome.
