Mission and Vision:

Kronkosky Place serves to enrich the quality of life for the aging population 55+. We are the central resource agency providing holistic services, information and opportunities for seniors and their caregivers.

AREA SERVED: Boerne and Kendall County

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:

> Congregate Meals: Nutritionally balanced meals are served for lunch Monday-Friday at noon in the dining room at Kronkosky Place

> Meals on Wheels Kendall County: provides and delivers a hot meal each weekday along with a wellness check and friendly visit to senior neighbors throughout Kendall County.

> Fitness: provides access to a fitness center, Silver Sneakers classes though a partnership with the Boerne YMCA, and many other opportunities for each ability level.

> Health and Wellness: provides weekly health screenings, health-related informational presentations, community health fairs and a large health care resource library.

> Lifelong Learning: provides presentations, seminars and hands on experiences to continue to broaden knowledge in a multitude of areas such as finances, technology, nutrition, health, arts and culture etc.

> Social Activities: provides classes such as arts and crafts, sewing, dancing, games, flower arranging, music, and trips and travel.

> Home Health Closet: provides access for all people in the community to used and new durable medical equipment. All equipment is loaned out at no charge and regardless of age or income.

> Transportation: provides area transportation to seniors who are no longer able to drive. This service provides rides to and from the Center, to appointments and errand locations in the local area.

> Support Services: provides support groups and prescription and grocery delivery services.

> Volunteering: provides various opportunities at the center and in the community to promote value, independence, belonging and empowerment

> ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Must be 55+. An assessment is required to determine eligibility for Meals on Wheels. Qualification is based on Activities of Daily Living.


> COST TO CLIENT: Annual membership fee for participation in Kronkosky Place activities. Membership fee may be waived if individual cannot pay. Single person $25 per year; Couple $35 per year. (Not required for Meals on Wheels recipients)
*All those will be served regardless of their ability to contribute

> Voluntary contribution asked for congregate meals ($5) and home delivered meals ($3).

>Donations are also encouraged for rides through the transportation program.

> Fitness Center Fees:

When you join the Boerne YMCA you will automatically be enrolled in a KP membership and be able to participate in all fitness activities at both locations. Becoming a Dual Member can give you access to scholarships for your membership or even be covered under your insurance plan. Ask for more information at the front desk of the YMCA.

Fitness Center only membership (6 months) *For non-dual members only.
Age 55-59 $25.00 per month
Age 60-69 $20.00 per month
Age 70+ $15.00 per month
